| The date for the 2010 All School Reunion has
been set for September 18,2010 which will take place during the annual Calf
Show Days Celebration. The reunion will be held Saturday evening at the
Schleswig Community Building. Doors will open at 4:00 p.m. with a meal
catered by Staleys served from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. There will be a beer garden
outside as well as the bar inside with music later in the evening. Tickets
will remain $15.00 per person. Mark you calendars, get on Facebook and let
alumni and teachers know of our plans. Bring your spouse or a guest and
enjoy the weekend in Schleswig. There will be a parade Saturday morning at 10:30 a.m. and we anticipate that many of the classes will be participating, by way of a class float or other entries. The Lutheran Ladies will be serving their broasted chicken dinner catered by Staley's following the parade at the Community Building. The school will be serving their famous taverns and coney dogs Friday evening and all day Saturday on Main Street. There will be a craft show Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the United Church of Christ and Friday and Saturday carnival rides and games. Sunday morning there is a pancake breakfast at the Community Building. The Schleswig Library will be open from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. All trophies, annuals, and class pictures are housed there and available for viewing. An open house at the Schleswig elementary/middle school is planned hopefully to include me new addition in progress. Our community is in the process of raising money to make enhancements to the Schleswig Community Building. Plans include new and improved restroom facilities, as well as making the building handicap accessible with the installation of an elevator. Wouldn't it be wonderful to have these improvements complete prior to the All-School Reunion? At this time funds are still needed and any donations are appreciated. If you wish to help, please send your tax-deductible contribution to Bank Iowa, P.O. Box 220, Schleswig, Iowa 51461. Please make your check payable to the City of Schleswig and note Enterprise Remodeling Project on the memo line. In the future we ask that you send us your change of address when or if you have moved. We plan to hold an Alumni Reunion every five years and it would aid the Reunion committee with future planning and organizing if everyone could keep us up to date. We have enclosed a list of area motels, and campgrounds for your convenience.
